Malcolm's Story

Malcolm Longaker is a musician of many talents. From the age of nine, he began his journey as an electronic music producer and a drummer. In his early teenage years, he picked up other digital audio workstations such as Ableton Live, and delved into jazz and latin drumming, earning various accolades such as a selection to All State Jazz in New York State. Now a recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music, where he studied Electronic Production & Design and Music Performance, Malcolm mastered Ableton Live, earning him the nickname "The Ableton Wizard" among his contemporaries. He also delved into a variety of other audio and multimedia software programs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Max MSP, and and has performed live both as a DJ and with Ableton Live using grid controllers. He recently released his debut album, “Capture” and his debut house EP, “Bound to Ice” on all streaming services. As a drummer, he studied drums under the mentorship of Dave Dicenso and James Murphy, and spent his nights recording and performing with dozens of local jazz, R&B, rock, and indie artists, including as his current band, Juicebox. He is currently a roster musician for Silver Arrow Band, a premier regional event agency for high end weddings and private events, and just completed a hybrid electronic and instrumental performance for Alejandro Bernard's "Here With You, Hear With Me" concert series, highlighting his performance and production abilities in Ableton, as well as his improvisational prowess behind the drums.
